As to why Joel Osteen said what he did....I don't believe it's money...since he and his family do not take any kind of salary from his church. They live on the profits from their books... The Osteen's sell their books because of their huge following. He says these things because it gets him onto Larry King, Oprah, Sean Hannity, etc., and gets him cover stories on magazines, newspaper inserts, etc... all enabling him to reach millions with his books.
