  • Too many dramatic pauses. I still prefer to see more smooth and fluid body dynamics and transitions between techniques.

  • The beauty of kata is that each great athlet/artist is performing it in his/her own maner.

We all have preferences and hopefully will improve by time our taste and undrestanding.

    Very good performance! A+

  • @acrocanthosaurus4 when a video is posted in youtube, it's openned to criticism whether it's destructive or constructive. I critique on something on which I personally have some opinion about it. Anyway, just as I have said, it's only my preferences. I was not saying what he's doing is wrong or bad.

  • @4rmtinc always a critic

  • If your looking for a amazing demonstration of Unsu, then look at (M. Nakayama - Luca Valdesi vs. Michael Milon. Gankaku vs Unsu ) There is also a young women who preformed Unsu, but I can't remember where she is. Give it a look. Just type in "Kata Unsu" and she should be at the top.

  • - was doing his best or not is beyond us to judge due to the fact that we don't know him. "You can't just the taste of rice until you eat of it..." Sure, there are some points where it might seem a little flashy, but last time I check, not many men could stand straight against a flash grenade. Say what you will, but I stand by that he did fairly well. Not amazing, but commendable for his work.

  • I have watch about six different demonstrations of this kata and not yet have I seen the Ushiro Geri technique! It's after the outside -in crescent kick leading to the jump/turn kick which is supposed to be there. Maybe it's just me :P Anyway, you two have a valid point. Much of what has been lost in the arts of any style is representation of what true karate is. I have seen two people preform this kata and do so beautifully! Even their eyes spoke out of the brilliance of the Kata! Whether he -

  • He does this kata to slow to much showmanship fo the kata at the correct speed to much bullshit not a true karatica I class him as a sports karate person Oss

  • It doesn't matter. the techiniques or the style. the question is ..does he portray the true sense of karate? can he defend himself/? What you feel is important is ("smooth" or "not") irrelevant to the science of self-defense...
