Title says it all. Had hoped to catch these guys as they paraded by earlier today, but by the time I had aligned my own ADD parade of notions, the Military Band was likely already at the Parade Square downtown in 'the Fax.' Did go and video about 20 min of footage but battery in camera just about died. So I closed it and ventured home. However, as I was securing my bicycle to a tree outside my abode on the Common, these guys were retuning to their home in the Armories a couple of blocks up the street from my place. I immediately entered my apartment to be rid of my back-pack and tripod, dashed back outside, hoped on my bicycle and rode like the dickens up the street and caught the parade just as it was about to enter their home. So I dashed across the street to have the Sun now high in the south western sky get behind me so I could hopefully capture the last minutes of the band's parade into the Armories. Whew, what a rush. But I did it. However, the marching soldiers behind the band looked a little tired and out of line somewhat. Who could blame any of them, They just paraded downtown and back but not before standing for a good hour in the bright sunlight and crisp breezes keeping the air chilly to the bone cold. Regardless, only hope none of them have to be shipped off to that cretinous war for pipeline oil, not freedom and democracy as they're told, that's been unfolding in Afghanistan for far too long and which has taken far too many innocent lives on both sides of the heinous conflict, seemingly forever. Am willing Peace ...in all dimensions. Musical instruments in the hands of troops I laud; but, I say, "boycott war toys!"
