Darcey Bussell and Jonathan Cope. Pas de Deux, Prince of the Pagodas

Sir Kenneth MacMillan created Prince of the Pagodas on Darcey Bussell, when she had just turned 20. At the end of the premiere performance, she was elevated to the position of Principal Dancer at the London Royal, the youngest ballerina ever to be so honored. Thus began one of the most illustrious careers in ballet.

@icarrus4u Thank you. This was the ballet created for her, and it launched her on her magnificent career. I believe she was 20 when this film was made, and she looks about 14! She never lost that beautiful, radiant youth. She still has it today! If you haven't seen it, check out her jive number she did for Strictly Come Dancing 2 years ago.
