So, the tank portion explains itself well enough, the pond part does not.

This was taken recently when I had to drive about 1800 miles from cali to MN. I was able to stop off in CO briefly to see family and get these shots. I am sorry they are not the best, but it will suffice until I am able to do better.

Each pond is 4 by 8 feet. The depths vary, one is 4 and 3 feet deep depending on what end you are looking at, and the other is only 2 feet deep through out it.

In the ponds there are red ear sliders, western painted turtles, Reeves turtles, Map turtles ( Mississippi, false, and cagles) Diamond back terrapins, and a penninsula cooter.

Each has a large bio fall type of pump and filtration set up. They run year long in colorado, in winter we create a type of green house top that goes on and helps keep warmth with in the water and air.

Any questions feel free to ask. Thanks

  • ive had my drift wood for years that i got from the river and never had a problem so im not sure why you said it will cause lots of problems first off i used a sand blaster with chipped mapple instead of sand and then soaked it for a week doing 20 percent water changes every day thats what i do with all my wood everytime get it btw i also sell it to pet stores thats my job anyways nice vid ima subscribe

  • @scalecrawler08 Ah, you see this was never mentioned. Many just take it and toss it in. The bacteria, and organisms on the wood itself from that point can cause damage to a healthy tank. You clearly know what you are doing =D.

  • how much did your texas map cost you

  • @002andyme I do not keep texas maps. But generally they should be about 30 usd

  • @swaay1000 130 gallon tank would be a GOOD size but I would go by the rule of thumb 10 gallons per inch of turtle shell so I would get a 160 gallon . But 130 is fine

  • hey is a 130 gallon pond good for three turtles 4 inches 5 and 6 inches

  • when you start a turtle tank... does that turtle tnk need to go through a nitrogen cycle ?

  • i'd put up more water maybe an inch above the right part of that drift wood

  • i like the second pond 10x better!

  • cool tank, just picked up a 55 myself

  • @scalecrawler08 Caps are not necessary, and that way can lead to some serious issues in your tank. Not the smartest way to get drift wood at all.

  • @RockUrSox88 THE BEST WAY TO GET GRIFT WOOD IS GO TO THE RAPIDS AT YOUR LOCAL RIVER IT WONT TURN YOUR TANK BROWN
