Andantino by Carulli is a great little study for both hands as it requires a good deal of co-ordination. The tempo of the piece is around 64-66 M.M. but seems a lot faster because of the 16th notes (semiquavers) throughout most of the piece.

  • too fast. it is andantino, not vivo.

  • @lolciaxD Perhaps, but in agreement with my teacher many years ago we decided it sounded much better, more lively at this tempo. And since the idea is not to play black and white notes but make it musical I opted for this one :))

  • I learned this one from your arrangement in the newsletter. It is a blast to play. Thank you so much, Trevor. If I may make a suggestion: the contest you are running is more of a sweepstakes than a contest. Perhaps you could make it a video contest and award the poorest performance with a free course subscription (but don't reveal the winning criteria, naturally). I realize it would take more of your time to review the videos, but it would further your mission and would be great fun.

  • @jeligula Thanks for the response but you're on the right track re: time commitments. I think I'll keep it as this for now. Thanks anyway. Kind regards,

    Trevor M.
