File Sharing & Internet Piracy Mashup

This video was completed by Maria G. for Dr. Bill Wollf's Writing, Research and Technology class at Rowan University, Fall 2012. The purpose of this mashup was to illustrate that file sharing, which is often confused with piracy, is NOT theft, nor is it illegal: it's the spread and development of images, videos, and ideas through the internet that leads to the creation of memes, parodies, and remixes. File sharing is a process by which one file or set of files is shared between multiple people, meaning the original file isn't compromised or lost; in terms of the video, it's like splitting a cookie between friends and having the cookie remain intact. Everyone wins!

This mashup was created for a class and as a result falls under Fair Use Guidelines and within the exemptions to DMCA Section 1201 rules announced by the Library of Congress on July 26, 2010.
