Here is a guitar lesson and breakdown, W/Solo, for Monster by Paramore. Twice I tried to upload the video with me playing along to the track and both times Youtube blocked my video for copyright infringement even though this video is for educational purposes and therefore exempt from infringement.

  • you say 8th fret when it's actually 9th fret

  • @Edjan031 My bad :-/

  • great video mate, just one thing with the intro though, the second chord after the Em7 should be a B/Eb (8th fret on the 5th string, 11th fret on the 4th string, 10th fret on the 3rd string and 9th fret on the 2nd string). Well I think so anyway :) oh and you're saying start on the 8th fret when it should be the ninth although I'm sure the viewers can work that out by watching what you're doing. Great job \m/@.@\m/

  • @jacks2axe Cheers dude. I've listened to it again and Im pretty certain the 2nd chord on the intro is a Sus2 chord. Is that what you were referring to? As for the frets I've down tuned to Drop C so that's probably what's causing the (my) fret confusion

  • @Sp3ci41K that's pretty much what I had, minus the the slide, which is called a grace note. Yer could work on the G string I don't hear the sliding though... I'll have another listen. Thanks for your kind words.

  • Btw I would also like to add that your tutorials are fantastic. Great way to learn songs if you have no idea where to even begin to start. Subscribed!

  • @timothymartyn Sounds like a quick slide because i hear 4 pedals.

    D |-10s11-----11-------11------11--------------------------------------------|

    G |----------13------14-------13-------14s16-16-16-16-14-14-14-14--|

Not sure since nobody has seen them play the song live, but from what I hear this makes a lot of sense.

I also think the majority of the solo is played on the G string itself. Bouncing between the same fret on the G and D strings feels a bit clunky.

  • @Sp3ci41K is the 10th fret D string not a grace not.. A quick slide into 11th fret? Must have missed that. Thanks for the pointer

  • for the solo you actually slide 10s11 on the D string, then pedal the run. :) small detail. Otherwise you got it!

  • Cool ! New song from paramore ~

Good luck with the house moving.
