synopsis:

Free markets are not to be blamed for the Great Recession. On the contrary, its origins rest upon the deep government and central bank intervention in the economy. Through fraudulent mechanisms, this causes recurrent boom and bust cycles: bad policies create phases of irrational exuberance, which are then followed by economic recessions, a result that every citizen ends up suffering from.

Maria makes a highly inaccurate claim at 21:18

"the reality is that it [money printing] impoverishes all people equally"

This is obviously wrong. It enriches the counterfeiters and the people who get the fake money first.

are you seriously telling me that counterfeiting money does not benefit the counterfeiter?

which business school did you go to? the very first principle of Keynesian economics is that money printing cures everything - even AIDS.

in fact this helps no one...first thing you learn on a business or economic school is that it does not solve any problem to print more money...for several reasons.

You are absolutely right that those with first dibs on the new money, who will have money at the value before it starts inflating, benefit initially. However, the counterfeiters must know if they destroy the economy, no one will produce the things they want for their own material comfort. So in the long run, the counterfeiters will also suffer. It is also in their own incentives to have a sane economy.

I think an important role of Banks that is rarely mentioned is its role as a service provider. I use my Bank should I can shop online & conduct many other transactions. I don't think many people put money in banks to get the return on their savings.
