  • I was there in 88 for my aunts bday. it felt like hell. the earthquake lasted really long and the aftermath was even more devistating. I was only 9 when it happened but it was so devistating that I still remember it after 21 years like it happened yesterday. RIP to all our Armenians that died in this tragic event.

  • 'nobody is doing anything' is a generalizing and false statement i think.

  • Armenia has been through sooo much, no other country will go through what Armenia has been through, we are still effected to this day because of the earthquake and nobody is doing anything.

  • To those who seek justice, whether it be for the 1915 Genocide, the Sumgait Massacre, the 1988 "Earthquake" or anything else for that matter, I have only hope to offer you. Hebrews 10:30 says, "For we know Him who said, 'VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY' And again, 'THE LORD WILL JUDGE HIS PEOPLE.'"

  • I don't believe for a second this was an "earthquake" rather a conspiracy to distract Armenians from what was going on in Sumgait. I lost two people from my immediate family and believe that through GOD, I, as well as everyone who was impacted will have justice. As for the nasty words that were exchanged; although I appreciate your passion and nationalism, please don't reduce this down to a mere Turk v. Armenian, when the sin of humanity is to blame.
