The funny thing here is that Hayes isn't even trying to make fun of the song. However, people always seem to laugh when somebody performs one of her songs. In other words, just performing a Britney song works as a joke for the audience. That tells something about Britney as a not-so-seriously-taken artist. I don't know if respect has nothing to do with anything. I'm guessing Britney's not in a position to make fun of other artists at the moment. The joke wouldn't work.
