http://unboxing.gearlive.com - In this episode, we open up the OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) XO-1 laptop computer. The XO-1, previously known as the $100 Laptop or Children's Machine, is an inexpensive laptop computer intended to be distributed to children in developing countries around the world,[1] to provide them with access to knowledge, and opportunities to "explore, experiment and express themselves" (constructionist learning).[2] The laptop is developed by the One Laptop per Child (OLPC) social welfare organization, and manufactured by the Taiwanese computer company, Quanta Computer.

  • la Xo es uruguaya y si no fuense por no sotros esto no eistia manga de ladrone

  • can you overclock it? XD

  • @for818 I currently have a water cooled i7 gaming rig, I'm talking 5-6 years ago man. But yeah, too much eye candy too little hardware performance juicing.. Glad you see my point =P

  • @seiferis2006 u must be a pretty sht software engineer with that boss pc but i still get ur point its not like there gonna be playing crysis 2 on the laptops so reusing older computers is even better =D

  • Individual laptops in a classroom??? Why the heck isn't it in my school...

  • I really don't get this... I'm 23 now and I used a Pentium 75MHz PC with 64MB RAM, no CD drive, running Windows 98SE all the way until 5-6 years ago, and guess what? I'm a software engineer...

My point? Instead of developping this cheap laptops for third world countries, they could just re-use older computers which can not only do the job well (Because they worked for me.) They're also cheaper, and clearly better for the environment as nothing has to be produced.

    This is stupid.
