Concerned citizens from all around Ohio braved the cold in Columbus to protest Governor-elect John Kasich's (R) agenda. Speakers at the rally, organized by DefendOhioCampaign.com, criticized Kasich's attacks on workers' rights and public employees, his plans to privatize public services, his threatened cuts to public schools and higher education, and his environmental policies.

The state has been ruined by the previous governor Taft. coddling big businesses, removing all taxes from businesses while subsidizing them. Our state was sold out by Republicans who do not have "family values" but less morals than a salivating banker with an old lady on the edge of foreclosure.

I am so happy to see this action. After spending three months in Columbus in late 2008, I was very worried about the direction of the state. People I met just don't vote - they don't want to rock the boat. They need to ROCK THE VOTE! Actions like this will encourage some of those timid souls.
