Okay so here I am again but this time with a catapult I built to launch some of my planes. This Catapult is made from PVC very easy to make. It launches my EDF Panther perfectly but I had no idea how it would work on my X Wing. Well seems my tow hook is way to far back near CG. I need to put it in the nose to get this thing to work. Although next flight I plan to launch same way I did my Tie Interceptor. Watch It take off perfectly and here I could have doe it that way the whole time lol. Anyways we shall see. Hope you guys enjoyed and thanks for watching

  • Where You pleaced center of gravity?

  • @mac16a It has been a while but I think it is just ahead of the wings. I got it worked out though in the end. I posted other videos

  • Using the gyros may help to get rid of the v-stab. ake a look at RCPOWERS website, he has some good stuff...

  • @geekfish Dave sent me a message regarding that idea. I may go that route but trying to avoid it until last resort. There is a lot to it and may not work for my application. Well it would but I would not be able to do everything I would like to. Reason is my wings open and close like the movie. For the gyros to work it requires more servos for one and also the tips of the wings open and close like flaps and adjust depending on the gyro corrections.

  • @Gig540 This would work as long as my wings remain open, there would be freedom to move. But when closed the wings would sandwich the wingtip flaps used to correct with the gyros and would loose the effect. Only way for it to work with my use would be for me to somehow disable the inner flap when close and just allow for the outer ones to move if that makes sense. Sounds confusing kinda of lol. I have a few simpler ideas I plan to try out and post on here when wind finally dies down.

  • You could make it work with gyro's.... Look more realistic...

  • @geekfish I have a few ideas to try out. I may try using some gyros but I did get it to work without them in Part 10. As for getting it to work without the vertical tail there a few tings I want to try out first. As of now using a gyro with my set up would not do anything to enhance the flight. That would require additional servos which will be my last resort. As for the realistic looks, I will continue to beat this airframe up until I have a solid platform. Then build the realistic model last.

  • u don't sling your arrow from the middle, either at the end or in front...

  • the hook is to much at the back, i see you notice this. looks by a glider where they have the hook. your launchingramp is genius, where is your job a plummer?

keep going with this project, and never give up my friend. this thing must flying, this thing will flying, i know this.

  • @TraySoul I got it right in the end. On Part 10 I get it to work. Then I decided to land it with style lol
