Cantor Ben-Zion Kapov-Kagan (1899 - 1953) Benzion KapovKagans intensity and presence of singing are nearly unequaled amongst the known Chazonim. He had a beautiful and rich Tenor voice.
@JPLieuwen a great story involved David Roitman's widow and Leib Glantz
Mrs Roitman was dining with a number of chazzanim in a restaurant after her husband's passing. She told Leib Glantz that she now heard a terrific cantor in her synagogue whereupon LG asked her who the cantor was. She responded that BzKK was the cantor. LG's response: if you think he's a terrific cantor, you have no idea who your husband was.
Thank you very much for sharing this kiddush recording. I have a very scratchy 78 vinyl recording which was my grandfather's (A"H), but could never get beyond a certain point without the recording repeating. This chazan was one of the very best during the "Golden Age."
