  • I have seen it ... and bought copies for all my brothers and sisters... they loved it... Motown was in my 8-track player throughout high school and still loving it today, CD of course...

  • Buy this DVD, you will never regret it! This is one of the very best music documentaries ever and the Motown tributes by the excellent assembly of vocalists, who perform with the Funk Brothers are as good as it gets. The passing of the Motown era is an event which we have never gotten over.

  • @LesbianVampireLover -- actually I bought 6 copies of this DVD to give to my brothers and sister... They all loved it. Motown was very much a part of our lives growing up. We all just loved the music.

  • @ricdell ---Please tell me what is the DVD called? Is there a CD of this, too?

  • @giaisbomb - the DVD is Standing in the Shadows of Motown and there is a companion CD. Both are available on Amazon. kind regards, ricdell

  • While I see people arguing between Joan and Linda's version, the original and still the best is the 1963 Martha Reeves & the Vandellas recording. Both remakes are very good, though.

  • She did Motown and Martha and the Vandellas justice! Great version! Maybe because the band was sooooooooooo good! Love he Funk Brothers.

  • what a fantastic documentary!!!! watched it today and learned a lot!

  • Jealous of her. :(

  • Thanks for the video. Joe Messina plays a Fender Telecaster - a great guitarist !

  • @patbassbyrne Thanks for the post.

  • @ShipwreckTownBand The drummer was Richard 'Pistol' Allen. He died less than 6 months after this performance was filmed. Nice to know he still had that groove going on right up until the end.
