Wow I'm 222 Lb and i love soda but i have never heard as such a stupid idea by Obama (Barry) If he want's to fix the bad economy ask me how the bush tax cuts help cause i know but i can't tell you cause i have a limited number of characters.

All the taxes we pay we are doing them a favor, and that is not good. If we were smarter than them we could had drunk more water instead of soda. Or grow some food out in the farms. instead of going to the grocery story in purchasing all of this high priced foods

I think america is fucking disgusting. some 30 percent of adults are obese, and this tax of like 1% isnt gonna fucking make you broke. its just a signal from the government saying, "hey fatasses, now we make more money off of your poor food choices lol"

the wrold looks at america as a load of fatasses that all work in offices.

i hate soda, i'd choose a lemon or an apple over a bag of chips any day, why cant other people quit being so fat.

The entire idea of taxing soda is not necassary. It comes down to US farm policy. What is in our sodas and other junk foods.. HFCS! All you have to do is stop subsidizing the production of corn and the price of soda will increase naturaly. The only reason to grow corn is subsidies. W/o subsidies, corn production will stop until the market the price rises (due to lower supply). Just let basic free market econ take over & the price will go up on it's own. HFCS is only cheep because of subsidies!

Taxes on cigarettes have not, in any way, shape, or form, reduced smoking! If anything, its the public awareness campaign that cigarettes destroy your lungs that has reduced smoking, and even then...

Big brother taxes items that it knows people consume ALOT of, because its extra revenue to use for more expansion. Big brother only uses "health" as a smokescreen!

What ? on a 24 pack of soda that is 288 FL OZ, so that 288% tax ? so my $5.25 24 pack would cost $20.00 ?

Really maybe you should read history books start with by reading About The Boston Tea party.
