This is an abandoned home amongst the remnants of a ghost town formerly named Sprucevale. This former "town" is located in the current Beaver Creek State Park near East Liverpool, Ohio. The town thrived in the 19th century as a canal town until the railroads took over the canal/lock system for transporting goods. The town has many ghost stories, and the house in this slideshow is included.

Supposedly a boy commited suicide by hanging himself in the home. The building looks like it was occupied as late as the 1950s or maybe even 60s. The building was usually very securely boarded up, but I was able to gain access through a loose board one winter morning. The photograghs I took are the only ones that I know of from inside the building. I did not have a flashlight with me, so navigating the completely pitch dark home was difficult and dangerous, therefore the photos are poorly aimed. I did not stay long or explore thoroughly due to safety and security reasons.

This building was demolished in 2007, however, a marker still stands describing its history in the town.

  • OMG no offense but y didn't u do evp work (evp, elecro voice phenomena) aka recordings. Like just this weekend I did a session in Montana and got 3 different voices!!!

  • I'm not into the whole ghost-hunting thing, I just like exploring and taking pictures of abandoned buildings to experience and preserve their history before they get torn down or destroyed.

  • Too bad it got torn down. I thought it was a historical landmark. At least we've still got the mill (which I've been in). Sadly wasn't into this stuff when the house was still there...

  • You're right, it is too bad that it was demolished. Park officials probably decided it was an eyesore as well being too hazardous to allow it to remain standing.

  • You have balls my friend. I would shit my pants going in there alone, if I had at least 2 people with me I wouldn't be AS scared, but still I would be. Did you go with anyone?

  • I went in alone, and I had forgotten a flashlight, so I was in there in the pitch black. I used the flash from the camera to make my way through the building. Ever since this experience, I began carrying a flashlight on my belt 24/7, and it comes in handy a lot.

  • @apewrson I hear worse and worse stories from Indiana.

  • @apewrson I spent my first six months of life there after being born in Ohio. I have heard the worst stories of Indiana, going back decades. Hey, there is a guy on YouTube here in Indiana who needs help and a job, he is so sweet, do you think we could help him? Indiana had the worst rep in the '70s for hitchhikers. People would run you down as sport!

  • @CuteCatFaith if you think ohio is creepy visit indiana

  • at 1:30 you can see a face above the window(not really a face but a skull like shape)

  • Ohio is so creepy. I grew up there. Left in '77. Uprated and shared.

  • I usually don't notice or have trouble stuff like this but around 1:04 in the fog I can see a face that looks like a male. (towards middle / bottom of screen)
