God this woman interviewer is annoying.
No people skills at all.
Not to mention not knowing how to talk to a senior veteran

Bill - thank you for sharing this story. Is your Dad open to answering more questions? My wife's grandfather joined the 112th infantry about the same time as your dad, in Co. C. He did not survive the Forest. i would like to learn more about where he trained, how he got to Europe, and the days before arriving in the Hurtgen Forest. Thank you again!

Both my grandfathers fought in world war 2.One for the Australian Imperial Forces in the jungles of papua new guinea on the infamous kokoda trail and the other as a filipino guerrilla freedom fighter in northern philippines both fighting the might of the japanese that was sweeping through asia at the time...I have the biggest respect for these brave warriors...Always in awe at the war stories.Lest we forget.

@Mr5150ONE
You most certainly can!
I know my Dad would be delighted to speak with you!
At almost 94, he's a bit hard of hearing but still "sharp as a tack".
He's as delightful in person as he is on this interview and I know both of you would enjoy the chat.
He's my hero and I am very proud to be his son, and he will treat you as a son too when you call.
Warmest Regards.
Bill
