WARNING IRELAND: FOREIGN NURSES BRINGING IN TB DISEASE

The Irish Medical Journal found that some foreign nurses recruited for Irish hospitals had latent Tuberculosis(TB). A study has found that some X-rays carried out as part of TB screening in their HOME countries were inaccurately reported.

The nurses studied, whose chest X-rays were done abroad were reported as normal, they were later diagnosed with latent TB.

ASYLUM SEEKERS IN IRELAND CAUGHT 'ASYLUM SHOPPING'

243 Asylum seekers were transferred to other EU states after being caught 'asylum shopping' where they looked for refugee status in 2 or more countries.

40 failed asylum seekers were deported last night, a further 202 opted for help in returning home voluntarily rather than being removed.

IRISH QUEING FOR 7YRS LOSE OUT TO IMMIGRANTS

From Nov 09 to March 2010, out of 19 council houses, allocated by Tralee council 11 went to immigrants. Many Irish people are on the housing waiting list, some waiting for 7yrs, and the houses are going to foreigners.
