Gertrude Stein's recording of her poem "If I Told Him - A Completed Portrait of Picasso" overlapping a set of photos I took of my nephew in and outside a resturant one day (some with his mother and my sister, Tarah). Also some shaky footage I got of him, playing in our front yard.
I read the poem to the boy a few weeks ago. It was written in 1923, and first published in Vanity Fair in 1924. It was in response to a portrait of Stein which Pablo Picasso had painted of her two decades before: http://www.artchive.com/artchive/p/picasso/stein.jpg
Great editing! Awful poem. ;)
