A Political Remix Video by Desiree D'Alessandro

Sigourney Weaver has been heralded as a female power icon in pop culture and spokesperson, though several roles from her filmography have been subjected to the Male Gaze, where femininity and sexuality are foregrounded. The iconic horror narrator John Newland is utilized to help draw public attention to the unexplainable phenomena that is the direct difference between Weaver's selective recollection and conflicting cinematic record. The illusion that is presented through her testimony is dissolved in a juxtaposing cinematic montage that highlights her career of conflicting character personas. This remix offers an insightful reality check that encourages public criticality, awareness, and contemplation of the Hollywood female portrayal dichotomy. The initial feminist critique is further dissolved by the progressive, post-feminist resolution: women as well as men find sexuality in cinema alluring and celebratory.

  • If you've seen Alien and you're a guy, you probably realized Ridley Scott was throwing you a bone with that last ten minutes seeing as the first two hours are essentially male rape scenes.

  • She may have exposed herself a bit, but it's still tame compared to a frat boy movie, or much of anything rated R these days.

  • HAHA! "Do you think men are gonna masturbate to this?" "I'm not gonna get through this" "Do you think women will?" God damn she is funny!

  • I really wish there were like epic sigourney montages. but that was fun lol
