Clarification: It is not shown in the video but the cars are actually beeping in support of the antiwar demonstrators on the corner before the students. The actual number of people beeping in support of bombing Iran are actually very small, probably just a handful for the entire evening.

As a parent and someone who loves young people, I just feel sorry for them. They don't know enough to understand the ramifications of their actions.

And in defense of Brown University, I did find that there were a few students that joined the vigil, sadly there were not as many as I feel there should have been. College is a good time to learn about your civil responsibilities.

sbquigly: I hate to tell you but bombing IS war, and of coarse they were talking about the U.S. and war because it was a counter to a U.S. antiwar rally. Plus the idea of "precision" bombing is a myth.

Generally, I agree with you, although the counter-protesters' actions here had nothing to do with warmongering, and they were not caused by lack of thought.

(Warmongering in this instance is a blatant misnomer anyway, because they were calling for Iran to be bombed, not for the United States to wage war against Iran.)

Bombing serves two purposes: first, it sends the message that funneling supplies to Shiite militias will not be tolerated; second, it would destroy Iranian nuclear ambitions.
