Updated version of my particle system in XNA. This time I replaced the cruddy picture with a nice white particle-y texture and then turned the background black. I also made the amount of particles-produced-per-update adjustable in-game.

  • nice. did you write this in c++ or c#

  • @andrewchron C# with Microsoft XNA.

I mostly work in C++, now, though.

  • Someone on here asked if it was hardware accelerated. I'm not doing any calculations on the GPU if that's what you're asking.

Man, it's been a while since I made this. Cool to see some comments on here.

  • @HG601 Haven't touched this code in a couple years. Search Amazon.com for "XNA Game Studio Express: Developing Games for Windows and the Xbox360". This book has some pretty decent sample stuff for a basic particle system if you're interested.

There are tons more resources available online, I'm sure!

  • It's called Bonobo The Plug by Bonobo. Excellent artist ;).

  • Its a remix of a Bonobo song cant remember which though.

  • I really like this!

Could you tell me what the music is?

  • of course it looks good.. there's 6000+ active particles. 200 for most games for any given effect is pushing it..

  • now that's nice

  • very cool
