this is just something i threw together to see how difficult it would be to pull off this effect realistically. turns out its actually pretty hard to nail just right and im not satisfied just yet. but like i said, this is just a test.

i used several different fire elements from videocopilot.net's Action Essentials 2.

the sound is a combination of like 5 different sound files though which i thought was pretty cool.

  • This is really good, good work. it seems Sction Essentials has becomr the new detonation films.

Also., how did you do it, i'm guessing a lot of keyframing and roto?

  • yes, LOTS of keyframing. i had 15 fire elements that i needed to keyframe the position and rotation. cuz i decided against motion tracking. thats why the video is only 5 seconds and not 15.

  • Did you use stock footage? I haven't seen a realistic attempt without the use of stock footage. It's so difficult to create a realistic flame. This looks fantastic. No complaints here.

  • Oh yeah i forgot to mention but yes i did. I used the fire elements from action essentials 2.

  • Nice job. The sound is great, 5 files mixed together you say? It's worked a charm.

I look forward to seeing more

  • thanks a lot man. appreciate it!

  • Hey dude great work with this, i appreciate you making that tutorial with the girl! You honestly taught me some very good things! Hope you go far

  • Just drench your arms in alcohol and light it on fire. You can get a solid 10 secs of video before it starts to burn. You wont have arm hair tho.

  • @VfxTutorialss I DID actually!! go to the website AeTuts+ (google it) and then search for the Sizzlin Fire Burn effect. It's a girl who lights her arms on fire.

  • Flame On - Apply directly to the forearm

  • amazing, could u give me link tutorial of this

  • where did u get that burst fire sound effect thats really hard to find

  • where did you get the sound from?

  • By far the best fire effect I've seen on youtube and I've seen a lot

  • That's one of the most impressive flame on effects I've seen...and you did it with AME2? I have that! Hey, I can do something!
