Now, here is a tape which had one oddity, in that whereas in the past tapes began their life on BBC2 before appearing over on BBC1 trade, well, spare a thought for this tape.In 1990 the tape Time Kode had replaced Rock And Soul, and was due to be replaced in 1993; however the replacement tape had a fault and Time Kode continued in service because BBC2 didn't actually have a replacement. Over on BBC1, Ear Of The Lion should have been replaced by Summer High but unfortunately this was dropped in favour of Start Up, which lasted for six months before being replaced by Jump In, which should have gone straighht over to BBC2 but a technical problem had prevented this from happening as BBC2 spent the whole of 1993 and 1994 on Open University broadcasts throughout the week which meant that the window for CEEFAX was few and far between at the time so Jump In was restricted to BBC1. Jump In finally made the move to BBC2 in December 1994 where it remained until November 1997 when all BBC1 trade test tapes transferred over to BBC2. The titles of the tracks featured included: 1. Jump In; 2. South Sea Chorale; 3. Pronto; 4. Odyssey.
Once it had transferred over to BBC2 it got a full outing. The end is rather disappointing though ending with 2 repeats, "Colours" and "Dawn" (from the Jewel In the Night tape so there is a connection to the tape at least Tommy!).
It just seemed though that they thought 'oh dear, we've run out of material, lets just stick these two on the end!'.

Track 1 reminds me of Jewel In The Night. Is there any connection?

I remember liking this one before Breakfast Time in the mornings, even though some of the tunes sounded quite alike. For quite a long-service tape, I do not ever recall hearing it played to the end. Does anyone know if it ever did get a play through?
