It's not supposed to be "interesting", it's supposed to assemble things for human need. Thus freeing humans from repetitive, unfulfilling jobs.
It doesn't matter if its pre-programmed to assemble cameras, is that really any different from hundreds of workers in rows being "pre-programmed" to assemble cameras?

Is it preprogrammed to pick up parts and install them in preprogrammed locations?
What kind of logic is it programmed with?
How much does the controlling computer "know" about the parts; and about what it needs to do?
cause if its completely programmed then its not that interesting..
