An old style 'Sean Nós' song I first heard from Joe Heaney. I've heard two stories about it. One that it was about a child who was so well liked that the ships would tip their sails as the passed by her home. The more conventional story says the boat master, who sails Mayo and Galway, is courting Sadhbh, for real. It is given that song has roots tied to Inishkea, Co. Mayo. Sadhbh Ní Mhuinghile is an alternate title. Sung here by Mike O'Laughlin at the Irish Roots Cafe, from the album: "Irish Song: Traditional and Sean Nós".
