Somali opposition groups ally - 13 Sept 07

Somali opposition leaders have formed a new political alliance, warning Ethiopian troops to "leave now or never" at the conclusion of a conference in Asmara.

The group has vowed to overthrow the current transitional government and has given Ethiopian troops in Somalia two weeks to leave the country.

Al Jazeera's Mohammed Adow reports on the Somali fighters.

james, i am sorry for any mis-communication we are having. I am saying that the projection of force is an effective negotiating tool and that with America having that long arm, it should be used in cases needed. The UN has shown itself to be impotent, but a US aircraft carrier battle group can make things happen. The problem we are seeing in many of the trouble spots in the world today is in identifying the aggressors and non-combatants alike.

When Saddam surrendered after invading and pillaging Kuwait in 91,there were certain things that he and his Generals agreed to do as a part of the surrender.Things he agreed to were not done and his regime paid the price.This is the case in all war as the people under the regime and liberator alike pay a price. i agree with u!! but americans and the israeli government are the problem for the middle east!! now i am not saying american people and jewish people are involve in this kind of problem!! but its the governemnt!!! but i always support the mujahideen because they are defending their country like palestine iraq afghanistan and other countries!!! american don't have any right to be in iraq or afghanistan!!

well i am not saying other country are better than america!! every country has a problem!! where i came from it has so many problem that i don't even like my own governmnet people! but for the middle east whenever theres a war either israeli or the americans are involve! and i don't like most of the arabs leader because they don't even think about the poor people!! all they care about is upgrading their country!!!

god0lover,glad you see my point,but it is a straw man fallacy to say,"US starts most of the wars".There are 30 wars raging in the world and US can only be remotely related to 3 of them and actively to 2 really one theater Iraq/Afganistan.Even if US is starting all the wars,what is the solution to problems in Somalia Kenya Ethiopia Darfur for starters.We can all sit around and bullshit about what we think the problem is,but what about REAL solutions?I haven't heard any in a long time.lets do it
