i live in the town where this house is (eldon, iowa) and if you ever decide to come see it for a vacation, or come to iowa, DONT! nothing is in iowa. dont waste your time. Eldon is full of drunks, rednecks, and meth heads. dont waste your time.

AburameFifox -- the reason it is called American Gothic is because the window in the back is a sort of stained glass ( or "Gothic") window that represents a Religion. I am learning about this in my art class =) hope that helped

It's frightening. No smiles. It's like a mugshot of a serial killer. That stern look. I love it tough. It's real Americana. I always image a Texas Chainsaw massacure though with his deadpan expression.
