When the world "perceives the Christian in a whole, new light" is when Jesus Himself returns. Until then, the world will hate Christians because the world hates Christ.
It's not that God's top priority is hatred and loathing for a group, God loves the homosexual to the same measure he loves the heterosexual. We are to hate the SIN, not the PERSON. It is a comparable situation of someone with alcoholism. Just because they are genetically disposed does not give justification for a behavior and lifestyle that can lead to death. You love the person, depise the alcoholism. Just like with homosexuals, you LOVE the person, and do not tolerate the sexual perversion.
@Stan1208 But that's what Christianity is all about, right? Hatred and prejudice against homosexuals?
How many times does the Bible mention loving and accepting your neighbor? How many times does it mention charity and giving to the poor? I'm sorry your heart is so small and tiny, your view so limited....that your God's top priority, the dealbreaker, is hatred and loathing for a group that are born that way and cannot change how they are. The priority of Christians are all wrongside out.
@CristinaFernandez Whether people like me or not is what is irrelevant. The truth of God's Word is what matters, not what I think. Just because it is politically correct to accept perversion does not make it right nor ok.
@Stan1208 If you're trying to get people not to like you, you're doing a great job! Speaking as an unbeliever, Christianity to me, evokes images of who-the-hell-asked-you judgmentalism, political deceit and manipulation, and hatred of homosexual.
Here's a thing: most people under 25 know someone that is gay and are totally okay with people being gay. That's generation-wide.
The reward for prejudice and zero compassion is irrelevancy.
Remember, our mission is not to make people accept us or like us. Jesus said, Blessed are you when men insult you, persecute you and lie on you for My sake. We are not to ever conform to this world to be popular. You can't be popular AND right so take your pick.
