Andee shook her head, her eyes huge with fear.
"Please Andee? Pretty please?" Candie begged.
"I'll get blood taken also if it will help?" Nick offered.
"Yeah! Me too!" Candie explained.
She buried her face in to Nick's shoulder and extended her arm out. "Just get it over with," she said sadly, but it was muffled.
"Alright. 1...2...3..." the doctor said before injecting the needle into her arm. Andee kept her head in Nick's shoulder as the deep maroon blood flowed into the bottle. Nick rubbed her other arm, and Candie lightly sang while the process was occurring. The doctor finally took out the needle and applied a band-aid to the injection sight. "Alright Andee...all done," Candie spoke gently. "Wasn't that bad was it?"
"It was terrible," she replied, moving her head to where she was back to laying her head on Nick's shoulder.
"Why don't you lay on Candie instead?" Nick suggested. Andee looked up at Nick.
"I can't love you by laying my head on your shoulder?" she asked sadly.
"Fine. Anything to make my little sister happy," Nick sighed, letting Andee lean on him.
"I'm you little sister too," Candie said innocently, giving Nick big eyes.
"Not really. We're both 17!" Nick said.
"But you were born in September and I was born in October. We are actually one month and ten days apart," Candie explained.
"Psh. Know it all!" Nick joked.
"Shut up!" Candie squealed.
"Kids!' Denise scolded.
"Sorry mom..." Candie and Nick apologized again.

The doctor then walked back into the small room after running the blood test to the lab.
"Andrea. I have some bad news. You will have to get one more quick needle. We just need to check your blood sugar because you have been having all the symptoms of diabetes. This needle is a quick one, and we are using one of our newer, painless meters. I guarantee you won't feel a thing," the doctor explained.
"Your kidding, right?" she ask, sitting up.
"No. I'm serious. We need to check your blood sugar to check for diabetes," the doctor stated.
"Can't you just look at her test results?" Denise asked.
"No mom, remember?" Nick asked.
"Oh right. Sweetie, Nick does this everyday. It's really nothing," Denise explained.
"Yeah it's nothing. You can barely even feel it," Nick promised.
"Come on Andee. Last shot. For our fans?" Candie asked her sister.
"Fine," Andee said.

"Alright. I'm just going to prick you with this needle real quick then you put a drop of blood onto the test strip. i will do the rest," Doctor Missay explained. The doctor make a quick prick on Andee's finger with the needle, and Andee then let a drip onto the test strip. The doctor did the rest, and then a couple seconds later the results were on the screen. "Oh my! Denise! She needs to get to a hospital fast!" Dr. Missay exclaimed, frightened by the number.
"What is it?" Nick asked, nervously.
"It's 713!" the doctor yelled.
"Oh my god! Mom she HAS to get to the hospital NOW! That's what mine was, and I was in the hospital for nearly a week!" nick screamed.
"I can call an ambulance," the doctor offered.
"Don't worry Andee. You'll be fine. Just don't think about it and you'll have help in no time!" Candie reassured, hugging her sister. Andee didn't say anything since questions were rushing through her mind so quickly she couldn't think straight.
"Is that bad?" she asked, suddenly feeling stupid. Well, DUH, I'm going to the hospital, of course it's bad! she thought. That's when it clicked in her head that she needed to go to the hospital. "Wait....the h-HOSPITAL?!" she screeched.
"Do you want to die?" Nick screamed.
"The ambulance is on its way," the doctor stated.
"Only one of us can go in the ambulance with you. Who do you want to be with you?" Candie asked.

"No, Nicholas and Candie, if I say Nick will you be mad at me?" Andee asked.
"No of course not. Pick whoever you want!" Candie said flatly.
"Then I pick Nick," Andee said. Her mind was still rushing with questions.
"Oh....alright," Candie sighed, trying to hide how hurt she was from her sister's decision.

Just then, paramedics came in and forced poor Andee down onto a stretcher.
"Sh. Andee, I'm right here. Don't worry," Nick soothed, holding her hand the entire way out to the ambulance.
"Come on Candie. Let's get in the car. We have to get there fast!" Denise exclaimed.
"I'm coming mom," Candie said flatly.
"Candace, are you upset about her decision?" Denise asked, suspicious.
"No. I just want to be with my little sister, so can we hurry?" Candie asked.
"Of course," Denise responded, driving to the hospital.
