This song, cool as it is, seems kind of odd to me. Is it designed to get people pumped up for getting destroyed by a hurricane?

This is the storm alert theme from 06/07

Damn... Gustav was a Category 5 once it foirmed, and then once it made landfall, it was a CAT 2. I live in Panama City, Fl. I was close to getting hit! But I did get some thunderstorms that day.

...certainly sounds like a Stephen Arnold piece... it almost reminds me of 'Evolution' that they did for that Dallas affiliate, WFAA perhaps?

@wiiluigi1992 Don't you think they should return this music for Major Hurricane Irene?!
-
hey look-a green swirl of death!!! XD

@michaelvincent178 well the song is called "Eye of the storm" i think, soo a Hurricane has an eye wall thing lol
-
Why does this song always play when a hurricane is coming??
-
There's another calm version of this music...
I loved waiting for the Local on the 8s to listen to this back in 2005

that music and the thunderstorm reminds me that we are flying a kite outside to the park and my son wants to go home and my son felt sad, that was sad. :( ;( :[

@ttmaster1000 You pay The Weather Channel two dollars, and you can get as many copies of the software as you want. And if the IntelliStar program crashes, you have to pay double the amount of money for each copy each time to get a new copy.

Hey, please answer, how do you get intellistar?
Oh how much I LOVED hearing this on the LF when Ike was roaring towards.I love the song, just a reminder of a bad storm that knocks your power, Also Ive never heard Allen Jackson say: " Incidents and construction impacting our area" and even we have traffic reports (for Houston)

Yea, surprisingly there are only a few markets who have this narration, especially newer ones. However, this Intellistar at one time did have a Traffic Overview map. Like Houston, it didn't have the Traffic Incident narration but rather the traffic map narrations, (just as you see it on your Intellistar now.) It wasn't until the Traffic Overview map in Orlando was disabled when the "Incidents and construction impacting our area" narration took place.

What is the "Local Weather ID" for? It is displayed at the beginning of the Local Forecast.

Actually, it's used to keep record and identify IntelliStar units from your cable company & or other carriers.

I found the actual name of that song. It's called "Eye of the Storm" by Stephen Arnold Music.
