The release Amália Baraona's first CD "Mulheres" (which means "Women", in her native Portuguese), features 10 songs written about women and for women, by Brazilian composers Chico Buarque, António Carlos Jobim, Dorival Caymmi, and Joyce and Ana Terra. It was recorded in April 2010 in Bari with backing musicians Bruno Montrone (piano and arrangements), Dário Di Lecce (double bass) and Fábio Delle Foglie (drums). Guido Di Leone (guitar) and Francesco Lomangino (flute) play as guests in some songs in the album and Dinko Stipaničev (guitar and clarinet) has joined the band in the latest shows presenting "Mulheres".
According to Gianluca Cardellicchio - Fo(u)r Edition 2010:
"Amàlia ci regala un repertorio completamente dedicato alla figura femminile, esaltata dalla liricità dei testi che la musica brasiliana perfettamente incastona fra le note, ora ritmicamente per la sua natura linguistica, ora melodicamente per il comparto umano caldo e passionale tipico delle longitudini più a sud del mondo."
