clutch throw out bearing.
-
That is your "clutch thrust bearing", it's part of the mechanism that engages the clutch. Fairly easy to fix and you don't need a new clutch.
You have probably fixed it by now anyway!

mine does the same thing.. Im pretty sure it just needs that grease on the end of the slave cylinder
-
All you need is some grease on the end of the slave cylinder, know it doesn't sound like that but nearly always is.
-
grease is all you need my miata did that too

throw out bearing!
-
throwout bearing or transmission input shaft bearing
-
I cant really hear anything but if the sound goes away when you de press the pedal its probally the throw out bearing
-
you may have a bad bearing (i forget which one but one of the clutch ones) or it may just be the input shaft doing its thing...my mazdaspeed miata does it and i hear its normal
This still kind of happens, but its not a big deal. It went away when i replaced my clutch, slave cylinder, and all of the bearings but slowly came back after a while. I asked a mechanic and he said its not a big deal.
