A medical writer by profession, Peter Crespin has written seven books about Jaguars and contributed articles to various car and motorcycle magazines over the last three decades. He's a year-round motorcyclist and ex-racer when he's not driving his supercharged Daimler or E-type convertible around the UK and Europe. A committed do-it-yourself fan, Peter has restored dozens of classic bikes and worked on more than fifteen Jaguars, including the subject of this book, which came from California fitted with an ugly Ford V8. The oily hands in this book are all his, not those of some paid-for outsider -- so you know you the information is first-hand and believable.
People dream of restoring an E-type, but many fail to complete their project after time or money run out. Do you REALLY need to spend £4000 trimming a two-seater, £6000 on an engine, £2000 on a soft top, or £30,000 for a new body shell? No -- you can do it yourself for far less, provided your goal is a solid, presentable, and above all driveable car. If you are time rich but cash poor, this book is for you.
The E Type, the most beautiful in the world. However, not so much agreed on the awful, ugly looking e type sculpture they have built, a true waste of valuable public money; I don't care if the E Type is 100 yrs old never mind 50. This is another of example of brainwashing people an example of the ugly & quite meaningless artwork which is sprouting up across the country; from metal spikes, human heads which resemble phallic objects, etc.
