An excerpt from John Adams' 1995 opera "The Death of Klinghoffer," based on the hijacking of the Achille Lauro in 1985. The libretto is by Alice Goodman, and this 2003 film version was written and directed by Penny Woolcock.

  • The quality is incredibly shitty.

  • Why is this in the Phillip Glass playlist?

  • This music is so powerful, but not in this performance -- sounds like teenagers.... you need to hear the Netherlands Radio Choir sing this with Edo de Waart.....

  • elements of the film are great, but the drama of it rides on the music. This piece never ceases to move me.

  • i think that the film try to be a documental, and lost some of the strong of the opera

  • Love the opera, not too much a fan of the film though
