  • I also have been given a Baha just like yours on a headband but can not hear that great with it. How are you getting on with it? I cant use it with the vibration background sounds only the normal sound and its not the same as my good ear. They have offered me the operation to have the Baha fitted? Will you also have this operation done? Thank you for sharing Lin xx

  • @Linny21466

I have decided not to have the operation done because I have diabetes. The post is a permanent open sore and a huge infection risk for me.

Before they gave me this aid, they tested the bone conduction of my skull and said it was extremely good and I think that's why it works so well for me.

As long as you clean the spot where they implant the post at least once or twice a day and have no major medical issues, I'd recommend getting the operation.

Wow, sounds like it was a huge battle for you, but in the end, you won it and stayed alive. I'm happy for you. They key now is to keep up your spirits and get plenty of rest. Recovering from surgery is a lot like getting over the flu.

Keep me up to date on your recovering.

  • @stbays well i just got out of surgery. it took close to a month. i had cardiac arrest x7 and a temp of 104. breathing tube and feeding tube. tubes everywhere. even had icu psycosis and thought i was swimming. one of the nureses broke the iv going into my neck somehow. and i wasnt getting the medicine i needed which caused my cardiac arrests. but in the end my heart was fixed and im feeling better. i was only suppose to be in the hospital for 10 days. a month sure took a lot out of me.i got pics

I'm 33 years old and in pretty good shape all things considered. I'm able to take care of myself, via food and taking care of bills (that I can afford to pay). I'd say I don't really have too many unique problems, besides finding a nice girl who doesn't care about what I look like.

Look me up when you've gotten your operation and let me know how it went. Take care.

  • @stbays damn that is a real downer. at least you seem to be doing very well. thanks for the whole luck thing i need all i can get. have a good one and take it easy.

They've told me it might be treacher collin syndrome, though I didn't have the cleft pallet part of it. Another doctor said it could be pier robin syndrome.

In the end, it's also possible the doctors were injecting my mother with something that caused this. Sadly they erased the records.

    Good luck with your operation.

  • so what is your condition called? I myslef have a abnormality in my heart called ebstiens anomily. going in for surgery jan 25. anyway keep up the videos.

  • @sweetkitcat2 I'm guessing you mean the piece I have the BAHA attached to. I believe you're right, it's supposed to be used to let people test it before they get the post, but I've been a bit worried about the risk of infection, so I've been putting off getting the post. So far, the hearing aid works fine.

  • it is like the tester at the ent for the BAHA hearing aid
