Corsair crash with onboard cam

Parkzone Corsair crashes with FPV camera mounted on it. The crash actually accures at almost 3 minutes into the video and then after a bit you can watch the aftermath when the neightbors find it in their back yard

The crash was caused by, the best I can tell, was loss of signal. Suddenly I was unable to pull it out of the dive. The Spectrum radio I was using had a broken antanna. The wire is still there but the plastic peace that holds it out and up had broken off. So maybe it wasn't sending the signal far enought. But then again, I had flown it much further away than that earlier in the same flight. So anyway, I have since abandoned that spektrum 5e that came with the plane and invested in a 6i and an AR6200 reciever. It maybe over kill in this plane but at least it's safe now




I had to replace the wing, fuselage and the cowl.

You were lucky that you didn't get your plane all busted up. Incredible how it just missed the curb. And how did you find those kids that were stealing it?

good choice going with the 6i, lots more options then what the 5e has. you can get a cable to hook up the 5e to the 6i to use as a buddy box to train someone on.

good thing you got it back, read on rcgroups awhile back where someone found a plane with a camera on it that had crashed while he was working outside, he never even attempted to locate the owner of the plane, he took all the electronics out and sold them on craigslist and trashed the fuse.

Ya, i've doing just that recently. The buddy box thing that is. So thats been real nice. Plus I can get other planes now as well. The people that found the plane are my neighbors. That's my own neighborhood it went down in. So I know the area well and I was heading down into that hollow to look for it but as soon as I got there they were walk up out of it with my plane. So that was real lucky. I wasn't looking forward to going down in there to search for it. (continued)

If you look closely as it is going down, you'll see two little ponds on both sides that it could have landed in. Plus there are Cat Tails and other swamp like areas it could have ended up in. So, ya, it was lucky over all that I got it all back. And I was out with it just last night so all's well.
