I think this is amazing it not even Bisslett..........or Golden Mile. Scott. Incredible. When thier were giants of miling.

He did beat coe in 1983 - but Coe was suffering from glandular fever so it was a hollow victory - Coe won when it counted in 1984 LA and he also made it look easy against Scott in Zurich a few weeks later. Scott was a great Miler - but just not the best at the time.

you want to know what is amazing about this race? It is not even the Golden Mile. This meet was just an afternoon meet a week after the actual "Bislett Games". And I guess that is my point of how cool and amazing athletics was back in the day. Amazing meets and races everywhere and all the time. So cool.

Steve Scott was a great runner. But he could never beat Coe, Ovett or Cram. The only reason he won the 1982 Dream Mile was because Coe & Ovett decided not to participate.
