On July 25, 2011, an engine company on the air noticed a large column of black smoke in the sky and notified fire alarm. Upon a several minutes of trying the locate the source, a call came in for a vacant house on fire on Tower Hill Rd around 10:30am.
The house was set back a few hundred feet and was fully involved. A tanker taskforce was requested because there aren't any hydrants in the area. Hose had to carried from the street through the overgrown driveway to the fire.
its not ok to houses set on fire but that is what happens to vacant houses

What makes people think it was ok to set fire to a historic house like this is beyond me. This house was built 1766 and survived all these years just to be destroyed by thoughtless people.
