Part 1 of 3: How did Leslie go from being a solo artist to being a band member of the group The Other Half? Leslie and the boys talk about all this and more when they sit down with Leah.
@yvonnespearing - There is a non-profit organization for the friends and family members of those with a mental illness called NAMI (national alliance for mental illness). They might have a local support group or workshop, too. For more information about depression, bipolar and other mood disorders, the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance should have more information as well.
@yvonnespearing - My friend's ex-husband has bipolar disorder (used to be called "manic depression"), too, and yes, people with bipolar may feel better on the meds and then stop taking them. Unfortunately, then they can get the mania which can be a psychosis (mental break from reality) and that is VERY dangerous for them and/or those around them.
my spouse is bipolar.when your young ,you just dont want to take your meds, because the high is real high(manic)feels like top of the world..but the problem is ,when they come down.from the manic.they get very down, depressed.and suicidal.sad that may of what happened chemistry imbalance.sad
