Best way to test is to try a glass un-aerated, then try an aerated glass, then try un-aerated again... then try aerated again, repeat for a few hours.

I love mine, works great! Though it is mostly unstated, the purpose of the Venturi is to mellow out intense wines, which tend to be more recent and unaged (e.i. inexpensive wines). Also, it can rescue improperly stored wines that are a few days old, making them drinkable. The downside, delicate aged reds (e.i. expensive wines) can have all flavor stripped out with forced rapid aeration.

@cssful haha in Australian you need to be 18 but you can drink whatever spirit you like.

Yes indeed, a gadget that WORKS.
Do the triple test wine tasting drill:
Pour into one glass straight up, no swirl, no aerator. Taste.
Pour into glass and swirl by hand. Taste.
Pour into glass through the aerator. Taste.
A world of difference. Distinguish between the three, that's the fun part.
Cleanse the palate in between.
Salud.

My red wines are better, and cheaper than yours. I live in South-East Australia. Would you like one as a belated christmas pressy?
