  • @iAzurisa We're really not far away now from being able to manufacture materials on the atomic scale, litterally building something from scratch, atom by atom. Yes we need tools to help us navigate this tiny universe, but if that's not proof enough of just how amazingly accurate our perception of the world really is, I don't know what else I can say about it.

  • @iAzurisa The only way to truly experience the world 100% would be to sense the entire frequency range and everything else that's invisible to our limited senses. But that wouldn't automatically mean a more or less accurate representation of the world, it would just mean more information, most of which is completely redundant to us. Lucky for us that we can design tools to show us a more complete picture.

  • @iAzurisa Self-awareness is an entirely different argument, who knows why it happened, maybe we'll never know. I agree with you that it seems highly unlikely it would have happened naturally, but it did happen and IMO it could have only happened through random mutations. Once that got started, it's really not a surprise our species survived so well, and advanced so quickly.

  • @iAzurisa Sorry, I don't believe in intelligent design and prefer to avoid getting into philosphical arguments. If you go down that path, you have to try and tackle impossible to answer questions like - 'who/what created the intelligent designer that designed us?'. Don't get me wrong, I completely believe consciousness is real, I think we have just very different ideas of what exactly it is.

  • @SolarRainUK Im not saying that monkey's or any other creatures dont have consciousness just that their brains are less evolved so they dont have the same ability to think as we do. But as humans we are able to question the very laws of nature if it was down to materialism I dont think nature would allow evolution to go down this path of intelligence as to the ability of being able to question our very own existence. Imo nature isn't so natural its manufactured by intelligent design and has laws

  • @iAzurisa so the telescope analogy. Basically if the consciousness arises from materialism how is it possible for it to understand materialism? Do you think a monkey questions why its hungry or why its horny. Humans have the ability to question and thats consciousness therefore once we understand what certain things influence our behaviours we can be in full control of our behaviours and thats pure consciousness on a human level though. Idk if you understand what I mean, its hard to explain.

  • @SolarRainUK from the biological conditioning and psychological conditioning just by understanding the mechanism of your actions. So instead of other factors influencing your actions your thoughts influence your actions, logical thinking. This is getting into the philosophy of freedom so check that out. Anyways the understanding of mechanisms of life is proof to me that a consciousness does exist and always has existed. Its infinite. Just looking at the external world through different glasses.

  • @SolarRainUK how emotions work so after sex dopamine gets released and makes you feel euphoric which your consciousness interprets as happiness. Now in the materialistic theory were just biological machines giving into our natural insticts and psychological instincts. So two factors influence our actions, biology and psychology. But to have an understanding of the mechanism so to understand that dopamine is making you feel happy is to be aware. So you can break free from the...

  • @SolarRainUK My understanding of physics isn't really good so I dont really wanna talk about things im ignorant about lol i just got the basic understanding of it not much more. Im just trying to think in a logical way and understand the mechanism of it all. So yea i think the external world is very real but not the way we see it in our minds. Basically what you said. But the point I wanna make about consciousness is that just because you can understand the mechanism of the brain i.e why you...

  • @iAzurisa One more thing on the alien mind theory. Although I agree an alien may interpret colour/wavelengths in a way we wouldn't be able to understand (probably), ie they may be sensitive only to infra-red frequencies, and not our visible spectrum. They still have to perceive the world around them extremely accurately in order to survive/advance, and they are still bound by the same laws, or else it's doubtful they'll even make it out of the primordial pool, let alone eg; invent computers.
