Before I bought my 18' Cold Steel Barong machete, I thought the sexiest YouTube clip was seeing my machete act like a pair of scissors on a post-it. Unfortunately, I didn't realize how much sharpening this took and how many post-its I would waste.

  • girlie, you know that the edge for a machete is for chopping and survivng the blunt force put on it. leave the paper cutting for those awesome kitchen knives in the background. (always wanted a magnetic rack like that.) your pocket kives, tactical, hunting knives need that sharpness. you're a spyderco gal...ime a kershaw whore:) you may need to take ure chetty to a knife shop for a really nice edge. i have the sax machette but, looking at the cs 2 handed latin for something different. subbed

  • @highonimmi Great! And Thanks for sharing :)

  • nice...just tried this with my machete...and failed D=, My katana did it, though =D

  • @Safer7Sephiroth Nice! :)

  • You are one very pretty Filipina....and you love knives. That's awesome! Maybe I can hook you up with some of my custom scales for some of your knives. Check it out!

  • @ekserchina I only have one pocket knife, my spyderco, and it seems fine with the original scale. Thank you for the offer though!

  • @garrettzkool63 I'd need one machete for zombies and another for cooking :)

  • I know this video is old and you've probably learned this already, but for those of you who don't know, don't buy a sharpener thats in a "fixed" position. Every knife needs special attention when sharpening, especially when angles are considered, I keep my EDC knives at 40 degrees, and my cooking knives at 20. Buy a couple stones and a strop to get the best edge possible. If you aren't comfortable free handing it, get a spyderco sharpmaker

  • @AssumeTheFuzzySham or if you had the money to dish out you could buy a lansky deluxe 5 hone sharpening system that allows you to always have a same grind and on ebay or amazon they have them for 30 $ thats almost half price

  • Cold Steel has a vid recomending getting a file and reprofiling the edge to a smaller angle for self defense badguy chopping. With that, I am adding on to AssumetheFuzzySham, don't use fixed sharpenners. Use stones or sandpaper-mousepad-wooden plank combo shown on many vids on youtube. It can be difficult getting angles correct at first, but you can get them sharper that way.

  • Lol safer7, it is really hard to decapitate something. Bone is preety hard.

  • Looks like your ready for the diamond stone. If my head ever gets chopped off I hope it's by someone who's as hot as you!

  • hahaha your having trouble

  • thats not how you make a sandwich
