When replacing a power window motor on a newer cable style regulator you should NOT let the cable wheel get out of the transmission housing. We are all human though so this video shows you what to do if you make this mistake.

  • I've had to replace my regulator a couple of times already on my 03' Tiburon. Now this time the window would go down but not up, power appeared to be constant so I assumed it must be the pulley system. I opened up the regulator housing the spindle and bang everything came out just like in your video. Do you know if there is a trick to get that one back together. I struggled for way too long and am almost at the point of just buying a new one. Thanks in advance.

  • @HydrOLoW If you have struggled for "way too long" then I suggest just getting a new one. I have not had a tiburon regulator apart so I can't give you any tips, sorry,

  • I have a 98 civic with a similar wire Pulley system and the window won't go all the way up I took the door panel off an every thing and one of the wires were frayed some what, would I have to replace the regulator an motor for the window or jus the regulator

  • @ohhmyygodd For a 98 I would replace both. And I am not just saying that to get a bigger sale. At that age either one of the parts can have wear that causes problems. You could replace the motor but if the joints on the regulator are worn 2 months down the line either the reg fails or puts a lot of stress on the motor and overheats it. And vice-versa.

  • I got my regulator out and it looks like one of the cables sheaths is all rusted. That'd be a problem wouldn't it? I mean it would keep the cable from passing through and allowing the system to raise the window up and down correct?

  • @nsotelo77 Without seeing it I couldn't say for sure, but if you're having problems with that window then pretty likely that could be causing or aggravating it.
