I bought an InFocus X3 sometime ago. When the last bulb burned out the projectors LED flashed as shown in this video. So I bought a new bulb from Infocus directly and a warranty as well. Well here I am less then a year later. The bulb has dies and the projector is doing the exactly same thing. The only difference is that InFocus doesnt want to own up to their warranty. I was on the phone with a tech from India on 9/22. At the end of the call he said he would be shipping the bulb. However I called today and spoke with 4-5 people. According to them he never said that. Also that from what I had told them its not the bulb. Experience tells me otherwise. InFocuss tech lied to me on 9/22. There was no follow up from InFocus. They would have let this hang until the year warranty was expired. When I called them back today they did everything to claim that its not the bulb and therefore not their responsibility. After speaking with one Indian customer service rep for over an hour he came up with a solution of sorts. I could send them my bulb to have it checked, or the projector itself. Considering that a person representing to company already lied to me I am hesitant, however I will send them the bulb. I will play this game and pass on the results, as I dont believe any company doing business in the United States can be allowed to act in this manor.

  • nasir29 nailed it. I replaced my bulb but did not know I was supposed to reset the counter. So, of course, after a couple hours use it would not fire up. Read to start it while holding the - and + volume buttons. That didn't work. Then read nasir29's note to use the - volume button and the menu button. THAT RESET IT TO ZERO AND NOW IT FIRES!!!. Thank you Nasir.

  • @nasir29 To reset the lamp hour counter in the Status window, press

and hold the volume - button, then press the menu button

(while still holding down the volume - button) for 5 seconds.

Verify that the counter was reset by pressing the menu button

and viewing the counter in the Status window.

  • I HAVE A LP240 & I PUT IN A NEW BULB ,BUT NEVER RESET THE TIMER, SO MY TIMER RAN OUT BUT IT'S A BRAND NEW BULB. NOW ALL IT DOES IS THE POWER BUTTON BLINKS RED. I TRIED HOLDING DOWN THE VOLUME07 THE MENU BUTTON..NO LUCK.. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHICH BUTTONS TO HOLD DOWN ON A LP240???

  • NVRM

  • @ChrisK80205 you need to hold the volume up and enter keys i think. whatever the buttons are for ressting the lamp timer

  • ok i have replaced my bulb, but now its over heatting, and it is the right bulb (i work for a school distrect thats were i bought the bulb) and now it works great for 10-30 min and then dies

  • you are aware that this lamp has a low life correct. 1500 hours really is not that much. that is about a year of watching it at 6 hrs a day.

  • You have to bypass the ballast...

Open it, and below the speaker (when de projector is closed) is a plug whit, like 21 wires.

From front to back of the projector (the last one is the red one) unplug the 3rd and 4th wires put some tape on the 3rd so it wont shortcut whit anything and leave it unpluged; and the 4th, ground it to any screw that holds the metal plate between the two boards; turn it ON a Voilá!

  • If your X1, X1a, X2, X3 projector's bulb timer has run down to nada and the bulb won't light anymore, do this: Power on the projector and you will probably see a flashing red light on the control panel. Press and hold the Volume + and the Volume buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds. The projector will reset the lamp counter to zero hours and the lamp will start.
