Hey !

Here is another port of mine. This time, it's the great VVVVVV !

VVVVVV is a game where you have to invert gravity to pass different rooms.
In this gameplay demo, you can see what I've done so far which are :
- ingame level editor (load and save maps)
- various elements : spikes, quicksand, platforms, boucing lines, checkpoints ...
- change room when you go out of the screen
- multiple tilesets support (you can change the tileset in real time if needed) (not shown in this video)

Hope you'll have fun watching this =D

This demo version was realized in 9 days

  • Now tell us why it's not 256x192 / 256x384 like DS screens are.

  • @Shocker51374

    It is 256x192 ;)

Just captured the lower screen in no$gba, then uploaded to youtube which upscaled the video.

Pixels are just bigger in the video

  • omg you suck at your own game

  • @RemohEU Irrelevant :)

As I said, making this demo on an emulator was hard as hell since they keys were highly unresponsive and the spikes touch me even if I don't touch them (new versions of the game don't do that)

    thx anyway for watching =D

  • No way at the moment I send any demo to any one ;)

It's still a work in progress

    Sorry ^^

  • I don't suppose you're planning on releasing soon? :3

  • @SpAMCAN I worked on a level editor in java which allows me to create more sophisticated levels (and campaigns)

I still need to add some features (time trial or other) and consolidate some things here and here.

But as far as I can tell, the most complicated part of the game is done ;)

    (aka physic engine and interactions)

Now i need to find some time to finish the game so I can't tell you when I'll finish the game, sorry

  • oh man i want this for the dreamcast or the ds or something, this game rules

  • Slogan: DSdsDSdsDSds: Masochism to go!

Also, could you change the flipping sound? It's slightly annoying after a while...

  • Why is his head on fire !!

  • @Sweet4ils Looking at the character it's much bigger.

  • I like the music and the sound effects are cute. Also the guy looks like a teletubbie xD

  • Very nice. You should show it to Terry Cavanagh, I think he'd like it.

  • GET IT DONE.

  • Can you send me a link to an .nds file of it? I really want to try this out :)

  • It will be up to people to create a campaign like the one in VVVVVV.

I won't do it because I'm not porting the game, just making a game with same mechanics ;)

  • if you could make this the real VVVVVV then it would be awsome

  • um would a customizable character like in your still alive game be hard? I think that would be really cool. But you would have to fix the transparentcy glitch

  • Nowhere atm :)

Still a work in progress ;)

  • Where can I download that?

  • Thank you spAMCAN ^^

But honestly, buy the original one, it's really worth the money you put in, it's a lot of fun ;)

  • FANTASTIC! Now there is no need for me to buy VVVVVV :P
