Thanks for your reponse! Your great! Sorry if I ask you another doubt but... do you think that if I install the iLife 11 (with the iMovie 11) in my Mac OS X (it is 4 or 5 years old) the AVCHD videos will work with no problems to edit? I mean, like slow down clips, a lot of time to import videos, moments of freezing up, or get hung up... Sorry for my bad english, I'm from Spain. Thanks a lot!!

@MadMagasine13 I now upgraded from imovie 08 to 09 and that takes HD now from my camera. So it's working fine now. Thank you.

How do you decide between hdfh and hdfx mode (or hdlp or hdhq for that matter)? I just got a Sony HDR cx550v and have iMovie 08 but might need 09 or might wait for 11' when it comes. My goal is to get videos to YouTube at 1080p. Thanks much.

@Halunlimited You can choose it at the prefences in the camcorder menu, can't you?
Or do you have that problem with iMovie?

my movie app (iMovie for Mac OS X) recognizes my camera automatically and synchronizes the movies with my PC

Hi, great video men! I have a question. i have a Mac OS X 10.5.8 and the ImOvie 6.0.3 version. With your camera I will have compatible or connection problems? Thanks for your answer!

@antichristSvperstar9 hmm I don't know exactly, but I'm afraid it won't work.... The version is probably too old, my camera was recognized by the 8.0 Version. I think you'll need at least iLife 08, otherwise iMovie can't deal with AVCHD. With the newest version of iMovie this shouldn't be a problem.
