@Eagle249 from coast to coast, or sea wet or sandy. there is one law that prevails among marines. when the cry goes out "CORPSMAN"! there will be a large number of volunteers to be your covering fire and meat shields. you will never be alone, you will always be respected. your shoulder is ours to cry on, as ours is yours as well.!

@Ihateopp no, the ones who disliked this song are the poor lost souls who fail to understand that their 'right' to dislike is because WE STAND BEFORE THE FIRE for their sakes and their childrens sakes. they deserve our pitty, not our ire.

let them volunteer in a military hospital for a few weeeks, and maybe they will come away with a clearer appreciation of why we live with the slings and arrows at our backs, and bullets from the front!

today is memorial day 2011.

I served from 1984 to 1988.

All I can say, is that I cried from start to finish.

Thank God there are those still with the courage to live up to the dream that America still represents!
